This painting depicts a woman as an ethereal creature, whose habitat is the ocean.  She is the embodiment of a strong, feisty woman who is fascinated by her environment, and the creatures who live in it, human or not.

The ocean, and its inherent mystery, intrigues me, and is a constant feature of my work.  This painting depicts a memory of being on holiday as a young girl; catching a glimpse and then a handful of water containing a seahorse, and realising that these delicate dragon-like creatures are real!  Learning about their monogamy ,and the males’ role as co-parent, further deepened my awe of them as a species.
