This kōtare kingfisher artwork is for those who love the feel of warm tranquility on a lazy summer's day.

Picture a summer meadow. A light breeze stirs the grasses, and as the heat of the day rises, dust motes and pollen swirl in the air. The only sounds are the whisper of wind and the insistent buzzing of dragonflies and damselflies. The kōtare sacred kingfisher waits patiently, resting on a weathered fencepost, seemingly without a care in the world. All is serene. Yet his gaze is steady, and in an instant, he reacts when lunch appears. Off he shoots—faster than lightning, wings abuzz—the tranquility broken. But only for a moment. Soon, the mighty hunter returns, resuming his guard on the post as the languid day drifts on.
