Kereru are one of New Zealand's most endearing native birds.  The beautiful palette of soft purples, green and white blending into each other.

 Getting a good shot of any bird is tricky.  This is one of my favourites as the Kereru puffed its feathers to retain warmth in the soft rain.  Its stillness as it waited out the weather was my opportunity. The soft top light from the overcast sky shining emphasising the texture and soft colour of this beautiful bird.
