Moon over Miranda

Miranda on the Hauraki Gulf is a world renown bird sanctuary and is a resting and feeding place for many native and migratory species.

I was interested in getting some close up images of Pied Stilts but was gifted instead by the sight of the moon rising over the Coromandel Peninsula.  The post sunset dusk glow giving it a ghostly orange hue, reflected in the pool where the stilts were having their evening feed.

Ihad very little time to compose and take the shot as the moon rose out of  camera frame a minute or so after this.
