Ann Gray
Painting is my personal mode of expression. I use my work to communicate a strong sustainable message and to evoke emotion within the heart of my audience.I like to focus on a specific subject; taking it out of its natural surroundings, isolating it and then presenting its beauty on canvas. Colour and light are of particular importance in my work. The entire world is made up of light and to the human eye, that is where we find beauty. We react to it as it appears to us as colour. It is this light that has the power to affect the human spirit.
Texture adds a tactile aspect to my paintings. The intense detail with which I depict the natural world is intended to stimulate interest and awareness of our fragile environment.
My art captures many endangered species of both flora and fauna. I care deeply about our extraordinary planet and my aim is to share my passion with the world and hopefully inspire increased measures of conservation.
