Something old, something new...
A collection of memories are reinvented as Ciane Lawrey under her design nom de plume ginger up-cycles and sensitively reinterprets the wedding gowns that were the centre of attention for one special day.
Each piece has been ritually cleansed to remove the embedded emotions each garment has carried, then they have been cut, sliced, coloured, and embellished to give them a new life while preserving their former glory.
These dresses also represent the eras they have come from, reflecting the fashions of what each generation and individual bride has thought to be the perfect dress.
The 1970's arts and craft renaissance, the opulent and decadent and over the top 1990's, 1980's romance all are represented and with a skilfull metamorphosis they have new life.
