Ian Webster

Ian lives in Kuaotuna on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. The magnificent views captured from his home and workshop situated amidst beautiful native bush overlooking the pacific ocean inspire Ian's work. A walk along the beach always ends with pockets full of possibilities.

Ian has been a clay artist since 1981 working mainly in isolation from other artists and pottery trends. He specialises in hand builto work using slab and coil techniques. Over the years Ian's figurative work ahs evolved into a more abstract form with his Morpheing form series.

His work has been accepted in numerous exhibitions throughout New Zealand and Australia and he has won many prestigious awards over the years.

Ian will be a featured artist in 'Sense of Place' an exhibition of some the leading Coromandel artists opening at Inspirit Gallery on the 6 November. An exhibition not to be missed.
