Kate Hill

Kate works from her studio/gallery in the heart of New Zealand's Waikato overlooking the bush and rural landscape which provide some of her inspiration. Other influences are her own personal history together with the complexity and pressures of 21st century life.

"I have lived in New Zealand for more than 25 years and during that time have been working with fabric and fibre, print and paint. Right now I am very excited by the direction my work is taking as I push the boundaries and combine elements of all these media. A new press, built for me by Edward Snowdon of Christchurch, is offering enormous creative opportunities and I am also extremely interested in interrogating works digitally to develop and extend their possibilities."

Kate's pieces can be found in private and public collections through New Zealand, the UK and the USA. She exhibits regularly in Hamilton, Auckland and the Coromandel.
