Felicity Fear
Inspired by the romance of yesteryear, Felicity enhances her work using a variety of mixed media materials, paper and textiles, wallpaper, acrylics, discarded coins, postcards, antique photographs and the beads and baubles of vintage days.
Graduating from Media arts in 1999, and after a year in London and Auckland Felicity moved back to her home town of Hamilton where she has been a fulltime artist since 2004.
Her technique is applied to various objects and surfaces; wood and canvas through to junk shop treasures such as furniture, picture frames, boxes and cushions.
Every piece is unique as each gives new life to objects that have been forgotten. The building of layers gives a complexity to each work not visible at first glance, restoring and reviving with humour and femininity.
