Peter Faulkner
Born and raised in Rhodesia/ Zimbabwe.
College and teaching in Primary schools in England.
Moved to New Zealand in 1994 and set up pottery business which became A Very Splashy Business. Sold in 2008.
Married to Mandy, with 3 children, 3 grandchildren, living in Te Kowhai with cat, ducks and chickens.
I have always been passionate about creativity having grown up in an environment where making, doing and creating was valued. I love objects that have the makers feel and marks about them, objects that push boundaries and tell a new story. For me art is about people; people exploring different materials; people expressing themselves and fulfilling themselves; people educating people and making life that little bit better; people celebrating the beauty of the place we inhabit.
At present I am exploring glass...just another creative outlet, a mew material to explore and new techniques to learn. It is just another way, like pottery, paint and paper to express oneself through creativity.
