Joanne Bowe

Joanne Bowe is mainly self-taught artist and works from her home in Te Awamutu. Having grown up in the Waipa region she often takes inspiration from the natural surroundings of the Waikato. Local scenery, birds and other animals feature heavily in her sketch work. Some of her work also features intricate hand drawn baroque patterns which make her pieces unique.

Joanne has spent time in Auckland where she learnt other creative disciplines. She gained a Diploma in Production Design & Sculpting and also a Certificate in Makeup Artistry/Special Effects. After studying she returned to Te Awamutu and now divides her time between drawing, makeup artistry and also her hobby, wearable art. Her wearable creations have earned many awards since she began entering competitions in 2007.
