Heather Anne Atkins

An accomplished painter and established ceramic artist since the 80's, Heather enjoys portraying the natural world. Embellishing the simplicity of rolling hills and changing skies, with drifts of ribbons, balloons, and birds in flight.   Life in the 20's,30's and 50's also fascinate the artist.  The Harelquin-like ribbons, originally inspired by black and white Art Deco tiles, add a festive celebratory mood to her work, and are now described as the  contemporary artist's 'Alter-signature'.  With work  in worldwide publications and regularly displayed in online European awards, invitations to exhibit in prestigious International galleries are now a regular occurrence for the artist. However, Heather maintains that New Zealand is where her heart is.
