Mandy Emerson

I am a self taught Artist and have been creating since the age of four.

I used to paint and draw on everything at home I could get my hands on that had a blank canvas big enough for me to make my mark on.

My inspiration evolves from beautiful fabrics, vintage objects such as old window , doors, chairs and of course birds and nests. These things give me a sense of warmth and home.

My Mother is a beautiful sewer and she made all our clothes and patchwork quilts...she is a very clever lady...I definitely have inherited her passion for creativity. I am now for the first time in my life painting as a fulltime Artist and the journey is just beginning.

I have been involved with the NZ Art Show for four years now and this year is my fifth. My involvement with this show has been the absolute launch of my fulltime career. I sold 24 works last year and in 2008 I sold 18 pieces. In 2009 I won the first ever “Signature Award” which was voted on by the people’s choice. I received $5000 in prize money which I used to attend my first ever Australian show in Melbourne. The show was via selection only and I now have 5 galleries representing me in Australia.

In NZ my works are available from Inspirit Gallery,  Matakana Gallery, Mana Gallery, Verge Gallery & Soul Gallery.

Enjoy my works as much as I have creating them...the more you look, the more you will see.
