I have been using clay as my medium for expressing my art work for a number of years. The fact that a lump of clay can be transformed and is only limited by my imagination and the technical abilities of the the clay still fascinates me.

Problem solving is a major part of working with clay and now steel and I enjoy the process of success and failure.   The steel looks softer with the introduction of the clay elements whilst still providing a robust and enjoyable piece of work.

My love of clay has extended to being involved with the organization of Ceramic exhibitions and I am a founding member of the Waiclay Team which holds the largest National Ceramic Awards in New Zealand in the Wkt Museum and developed the Weird and Wacky exhibition to provide a platform for work from established and emerging artists.  I have an interest in bringing cultures together through art.

My pieces take me where they want to go and this body of work has been strongly influenced by my love of gardening.
