Sally Tagg

Born in Devonport, Auckland,  Sally Tagg has worked as a photographic artist since the early 70’s. She has produced several books and exhibits her work in NZ and internationally.

Tagg’s work often steps beyond traditional photographic techniques exploring new materials to produce large-scale sculptural works for outside.

One of her recent works, Pukanui Portal, featured at the BrickBay Sculpture Trail in Matakana. This is a revolving ‘portal’ of Puka leaves, which translates the original photographic montage into glass and stainless steel. Pukanui Portal becomes a symbol of renewal, addressing the cyclical patterns of nature and life.

Tagg’s work has featured at the Sydney Botanical Gardens, Sculpture Onshore, Gleam, at Hunters Garden Marlborough, and at the Waikato National gallery. She has work in a number of private collections in the USA and UK, and also at  Connells Bay Sculpture Park, Waiheki.

Currently Tagg’s work features on  the set of NZ Masterchef and in October 2011 her book ‘Seasons’ with Jack Hobbs will be released. This features her botanical photography and artworks.
